1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. Similar technologies (local storage, pixels, SDKs) have the same effect and are treated here as "cookies" for simplicity.
2. Why we use them
Yolki Pet uses cookies to:
- Make the site work correctly (authentication, preferences);
- Remember user choices (language, light/dark mode);
- Understand how the product is used, to improve it (analytics — cookieless by default, with cookies only after your consent);
- Ensure security (fraud and abuse prevention).

We don't use behavioral advertising cookies or share data with ad networks.
Campaign parameters in links
When you arrive through one of our promotional links (an Instagram post, a QR code, an email), that link may carry parameters indicating where it came from — for example utm_source=instagram. When we send you on to the App Store or Google Play, we pass that same origin information to the store (ct and pt on the App Store, referrer on Google Play), and that is what lets us know how many downloads each piece of promotion brought.
These parameters describe the promotional piece, not you: they carry no name, email, device identifier or any data that could identify a person. They are not cookies, and nothing is stored on your device because of them. If the link carries no parameters, no origin information is passed to the store.
4. Manage cookies
You can:
- Adjust your preferences in the preferences banner on the site;
- Block or delete cookies through your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge);
- Enable private/anonymous browsing mode.
Note: blocking essential cookies may prevent some features from working properly.
5. Consent
On your first visit, we display a banner fixed at the bottom of the page with Accept and Decline options for analytics (non-essential) cookies.
Until you accept — or if you decline — measurement still runs, but without any cookie: we count the visit in aggregate and anonymously, storing nothing on your device and creating no identifier that would let us recognise you on a future visit. Only when you accept do we start using a cookie, which is what allows us to connect visits from the same person over time.
Session recording. Only after you accept, and on a share of visits (roughly half, chosen at random), we may record navigation on the page — scrolling, clicks and the sequence of screens — to find out where people get stuck. Every input field is masked: what you type into a form is not recorded. If you decline, or while you have not chosen, no recording is made. Recordings are deleted after 30 days.
You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer, with no need to provide a reason.
6. Sub-processors
Site analytics are performed by PostHog, processed in the European Union, under contract with data protection clauses aligned to GDPR and LGPD. The updated subprocessor list is available upon request at [email protected].
How long PostHog keeps it. Site usage records (visits, clicks, traffic source) are stored for up to 7 years; session recordings, for 30 days, after which they are deleted automatically. These periods apply to the data held at PostHog and are different from the cookie lifetimes in your browser, listed in the table in section 3.
7. Changes
We may update this Policy to reflect technical, legal, or product changes. The current version is always the one published on this page.
